It’s the Easter holidays so it’s time to release all the family friendly films since the kids are on holiday. Apologies for the absence of Being Human Seasons 1-3 DVD Box Set this column for the last 3 weeks as I have been ill and swamped with work. For those who care for my opinions I can tell you that I Fringe Seasons 1-4 DVD Box Set adored both Submarine and Source Code, really dug You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger and Chalet Girl and by my review on the site you can probably tell I really didn’t like Hop. I have no interest in seeing Sucker Punch and I really want to check out
The Walking Dead Season 2 DVD Box SetPassenger Side and Cave of Forgotten Dreams. But that’s enough of living in the past, onto this weeks releases.
First up is one of my least favourite films of the year, Rio. Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) is a Blue Macaw, though he is flightless, to go Leverage Season 4 DVD Box Set along with this, he is a neurotic mess, he lives in Minnesota with his owner Linda (Leslie Mann). We discover that he is one of the last of his kind and is Project Runway Seasons 1-9 DVD Box Set being sent to Rio de Janeiro to mate with his female counterpart, Jewel (Anne Hathaway), much to her disgust. They are immediately kidnapped by smugglers and have to figure out how to get back to their homes, along the way they might just start to like each other. This film sent me to sleep, I found it dull, unimaginative
House M.D Seasons 1-8 DVD Box Setand stale. The characters grated on my nerves and not even a Flight of the Concords-esque song from Jemaine Clement sparked my interest. If you’ve seen the episode of The Simpsons where the family go to Brazil, you’ve seen everything this movie has to offer. Here’s a little BTS video about the Angry Birds spin off game (which is easily the best thing this film will produce).
Over on the ScreenGeeks US podcast, Barry Royal Pains Season 2 DVD Box Set expressed that he found Mars Needs Moms to be poor. What a surprise. The film follows Milo (Seth Green), a young man who doesn’t appreciate his mother (Joan Cusack) until Martians come and take her so she can be a mother to Martian Gilligan’s Island: The Complete Series Collection children (not producing them, but raising them). Milo decides to hitch a ride on the ship and get his mum back. This is another film from ImageMovers, the Robert Zemeckis run production company that works
CSI NY Seasons 1-8 DVD Box Setsolely in motion capture pictures. I don’t hate motion capture, I really dug both Monster House and A Christmas Carol, but those movies had great ideas behind them, this film just sounds like a lame rip off of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. I won’t be seeing this, but if you want to, here’s the trailer.
For the teenagers who have nothing better to do we have the new horror/suspense film. The Roommate borrows heavily from Single White Female for its plot, in which we find college student Sara (Minka Kelly) becoming the Everybody Loves Raymond Seasons 1-9 DVD Box Set obsession of her roommate (Leighton Meester), the obsession soon turns deadly. I have a soft spot for these mediocre Home Improvement Seasons 1-8 DVD Box Set modern teen horror movies, they are cheesy and repetitive, but they are also fun to watch with friends and mock in a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 way. If I can find someone willing to go along with me, I’ll probably check this out, plus
Hot In Cleveland Season 2 DVD Box Setthis has Billy Zane in it, that makes it a tad more interesting. Here is Gossip Girl Leighton Meester introducing the trailer.
An Australian action flick opens this weekend, Tomorrow, When the War Began. A group of teenagers go camping only to find The Vampire Diaries Seasons 1-2 DVD Box Set their country has been invaded when they return home, they band together to fight off the enemy. All sounds a little Red Dawn to me. This film mainly grabbed my attention due to the piece of marketing that was sent to me, an Harry’s Law Seasons 1-2 DVD Box Set educational version of the film poster that examines why the poster is a positive marketing tool, very odd but it grabbed my attention. The reviews have been mediocre but I’m interested enough to check it out when it comes to DVD. Here’s a trailer.
In limited release we have the Danish war documentary Armadillo, getting brilliant reviews, but as I am getting bored of war docs, I will be
South Park Seasons 1-15 DVD Box Setskipping this one. Also out is the Uruguayan haunted house horror, The Silent House, it looks pretty freaky and it has the gimmick of being shot in one take (though I’m not sure of how true this statement is), the reviews have been mediocre, I’ll check it out on DVD. Here’s trailers for both.
